In my music, I want all instrument groups (vocals / rhythm section / horns /background vocals) to get equally space (except for the solos, where I selfishly play all of them myself).On a personal side, I’m especially pleased that so many talented musicians wanted to participate on the recording. Some of them I work with almost daily, while with others I haven’t performed in 25 years.
Influences of bands like Tower of Power and Steely Dan are (too?) obvious.
