Canadian Spotlight: Jeff's Pick!

Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe has been my favourite piece of music ever since I first listened to it about 7 years ago. While the complete ballet is undoubtedly a masterpiece, it can be a bit overwhelming to digest in one sitting. The second suite contains the best elements of the piece and unfolds very similarly in form to the whole work. I have vivid memories of listening to Daphnis et Chloe through long drives around rural Ontario during the summer months, and I hear something new every time I listen to it.
